New Survey Confirms the Marketing Department is the Last Bastion of Non-Automation

Marketers are lacking the technology to effectively run campaigns across all the marketing channels and are spending too much time on administrative processes

Dec. 5, 2010 - PRLog -- Orbis Global, a leading provider of marketing management software today announced the results of a survey of Marketing Executives from the Top 200 companies in Australia.

Business reported that marketers don’t have the technology to effectively and efficiently roll out marketing campaigns, can’t get an accurate picture of all their marketing activities and are unable to substantiate ROI on their marketing investments. The major findings from the survey include:

* 72% of marketers have no end-to-end marketing system to manage their planning and processes even though 83% report that technology is key to achieving their marketing goals

* 62% confirmed they do not have real time access to all the marketing activities planned in their organisation

* 55% say they spend too much time on processes and non-productive activities, rather than concentrating on strategy and innovation

CEO, Grant Halloran says “marketing has undergone radical change in recent years and marketers are under more pressure than ever before to reach out to their customers through a multitude of both online and offline channels. There is more planning required, there are more campaigns, tighter budgets and more pressure to show ROI through this plethora of channels but what is happening is that marketers are being spread more thinly to achieve results. Fortunately there are companies and clients of ours who are embracing technology to automate their marketing processes which is giving them a massive competitive advantage. Our goal at Orbis is to help marketers at all levels to streamline their marketing processes so that they can focus on the more important aspects such as developing strategy and executing upon innovative campaigns.”

For this survey, Orbis Global polled more than 200 Marketing Executives from July to October. The goal of the survey was to find out what issues and challenges marketers are faced as they try to compete for business utilising the many marketing channels available to reach customers.
