Once the main event started, River City jumped out with an early lead; but when the score hit double digits, CLTRG took the reins and held the lead for the rest of the game with a final score of 87-68. In a sport that can have jam scores of 15 points or more for a team, there wasn’t a single jam where either team scored over eight points. Charlotte’s hard work and preparation as a Women’s Flat-Track Derby Association (WFTDA) Apprentice member showed great cohesive team play, clock management, and individual player moments. This level of play against River City, a full WFTDA member league, was a terrific way to wrap up the 2010 season!
Charlotte Roller Girls league has just concluded its third home season. and will announce its 2011 home bout schedule soon.
