Dec. 4, 2010 - PRLog -- The two hip replacement recalls are for the ASR Hip Resurfacing System, and the popular ASR XL Acetabular System. Depuy's hip replacement recall comes in the wake of data recently released which shows a shocking failure rate for these devices at around 1 in every 8 installations.

Compensation seekers can currently check their eligibility by completing a quick online form at http://medicalrecall.org/hip

Literally thousands of patients have had to undergo second operations to replace the faulty hip implants, with thousands more suffering from other complications.

Johnson & Johnson have since stopped selling these implants, but not before they had been included in thousands of operations. The company has stated that these hip implants had already been used in 93,000 hip replacement operations before the high failure rate was reported.

There is now likely to be a tidal wave of compensation claims with several U.S Attorneys dedicating extra resources to deal with the hip replacement recall issue.

Compensation claims are not restricted to those patients who needed revision surgery although these patients are obviously in line for larger payouts.

Patients are also lodging claims against Johnson & Johnson DePuy for several complications including (but not restricted to):

- Serious or lingering pain
- Fracture to bones around the implant
- Implant becoming loose
- Implant becoming dislocated
- Swelling in the hip and leg area

If you have received hip surgery and had complications, you are currently being urged to seek compensation, which will typically run into thousands of dollars.

The easiest way to see if you qualify is to complete a quick and simple online form to establish your eligibility at http://medicalrecall.org/hip
