Ayrsley Toy Drive Receives Over 500 Toy Donations

Dec. 3, 2010 - PRLog -- As of 12:00 pm on today, December 3, 2010, the Ayrsley community has counted 546 toy donations in their community toy drive.

“We are very encouraged by the numbers so far, we have donations still coming in and look forward to seeing what the final numbers will be after the tree lighting tomorrow,” said Chris Stulginsky, who is coordinating the toy drive.

Stulginsky expects more donations to come in tomorrow at the tree lighting. "Many Ayrsley and Steele Creek residents have inquired about donating, and are looking to bring their donations tomorrow."

Area workers and residents have been donating toys at specified drop location for the past few weeks.

“This continues to be a community wide effort. We have had companies encourage their workers and co workers, bars and restaurants offer specials and some companies who have asked for toys in exchange for admission to their company holiday parties.”

The toy drive will culminate with the community’s second annual tree lighting which will take place this Saturday December 4, at 5:00 PM.  

Those who have not had a chance to give have the opportunity to donate before the tree lighting as volunteers will be at the Ayrsley Pavilion (across from Eat Here Now) from 3:30-5:00 PM.

After the tree lighting, guests can take in a movie at Ayrsley Grand or get some holiday shopping done at Buckett’s Boutique.

Additionally, local restaurants Wild Wing Café, Saffron and Red Lion are all offering specials so visitors can stay to watch the college football games or enjoy a meal with their friends or family.
