The Truth in Lending Act (TILA) module of Focus on Compliance was revised to include the Credit CARD Act in 2009 as part of Edcomm Banker’s Academy’s ongoing commitment to providing the most up-to-date, accurate information to the financial services industry.

The Credit Card Accountability, Responsibility and Disclosure Act, also known as the Credit CARD Act, was signed by President Barack Obama on May 22, 2009. The Credit CARD Act bans unfair rate increases, prevents unfair fee traps, requires credit card companies to give cardholders 45 days advance notice of an increase in interest rates, enforces plain sight and plain language disclosures, increases accountability, and protects the credit rights of students and young people.
