Dec. 2, 2010 - PRLog -- Nobles Park and Valhalla will once again play host to the Manx Telecom Bay Festival with the event now taking up a much larger footprint in the park. Acts already confirmed include the world’s number 1 dance show - Michael Flatley’s LORD OF THE DANCE, Britain’s Got Talent meets the X-Factor and playing for the first time on the Island, Peter Andre and Ministry of Sound. Headline acts for Saturday and Sunday night are yet to be announced but the acts confirmed already make an impressive line up for the 2011 Manx Telecom Bay Festival.

One of the biggest lineup changes from the 2010 Manx Telecom Bay Festival will see Valhalla transformed from an intimate music arena into a comedy venue to rival the Hammersmith Apollo. ‘Comedy in the Park’ will feature top UK comedians with Jo Brand, Alan Carr and Andy Parsons already confirmed, along with a support band to create an hilarious opening night.

Not everything is set to change though, and following on from the huge success and popularity of this year’s event, Sunday afternoon sees the return of Britain’s Got Talent meets the X-Factor. The stars from the 2010 hit TV shows get together for an explosive show topped off with a headline performance from Peter Andre.

Valhalla really comes alive for Saturday night as Ministry of Sound creates an atmosphere not to be missed for the all-standing crowd. Classic dance hits, an intimate Valhalla atmosphere and world-class sound and lighting fuse to deliver a night dance fans won’t forget. To top this off, a headline act for Saturday is still to be announced.

Along with the imposing Valhalla tent, the Manx Telecom Bay Festival has grown to include a second outdoor stage and a whole host of Festival entertainment running throughout the weekend.

The second stage will be used to host a Battle of Bands competition contested by the UK’s brightest up and coming acts in the following categories: Rock, Indie, Pop, Urban and DJ. The winner will receive at least a one record deal and exposure to some of the top record producers, writers and stylists. So this will be a fantastic opportunity to see some of the UK’s top amateur bands and perhaps the UK’s next big act get their break on stage.

The entertainment doesn’t end with the main acts at this year’s Manx Telecom Bay Festival either. Ticketholders will get more value than ever before with the best aerial stunt act in Europe - The Vander Space Wheel, jaw dropping fire stunts from Joseph Peace, a Festival Circus and a chainsaw sculptor providing entertainment in the ‘South Park’ alongside the second stage.

Even before headline acts for Saturday and Sunday are announced the Manx Telecom Bay Festival is shaping up to be the biggest and best festival to be held on the Isle of Man to date.

The event has already received some massive boosts with HMV confirmed as the official ticket seller for 2011 and Peter Dickson (Voice of the X-Factor) confirming his appointment as this year’s official spokesperson both on the Island and in the UK. Manx Telecom and Manx Radio also confirmed their continuing support of the Festival.

Commenting on Manx Telecom’s continued support of the event, Managing Director Chris Hall said, “The festival is a truly magnificent event for the Island and we’re incredibly proud to be headline sponsor once again next year. We loved every minute of the 2010 event and can’t wait for what is already shaping up to be an outstanding weekend of entertainment.”

The announcement that Sir Elton John will be performing the day before the Manx Telecom Bay Festival was also a major coup for Festival organisers and a significant display of confidence in the infrastructure and reputation of the event.

Official Spokesperson for the Manx Telecom Bay Festival, Peter Dickson commented, “Valhalla has already received a significant amount of publicity with the Elton John concert selling out within 46 minutes. This is a tremendous boost for the Festival and the line up of acts already confirmed could not have provided a better follow up to this sell-out concert.”

Tickets will be on sale from 6th December 2010 at 8am through the Manx Telecom Bay Festival website. Visit www.bayfestival.im for up-to-date information and to sign up to receive notifications on Festival announcements. As a special launch promotion HMV have allocated a limited offer of only 22 all weekend VIP tickets at just L500 each, making a saving of nearly L150!
