The elaborate and twisted storyline involves Baroness Vladka von Loudenstimme (Fioravante)
who enjoys the stage but enjoys drinking off stage even more. So she can sprint offstage for drinks, Vladka hires the young Southern belle, Gwendoline Josephine Bellevoix Bouvier (Reynolds), to occupy the audience. Accompanying the Divas on piano is Paige Turner (Dr. Heather Coltman) who serves as a comical referee. The Duelling Divas are gaining enormous attention for their absolutely perfect reassertion of an opera singer's vanity, all while embracing the decadence of the art. Breathing some much-needed spunk into the opera world, they prove once and for all that opera can be fun, and their nationally touring production is being hailed as a must-see.
