Dec. 2, 2010 - PRLog -- The sessions are suitable for babies from 8 weeks old up until the walking stage, and will have benefits for parents and babies. Free taster sessions are being offered on Friday 17 December at Morriston Leisure Centre for those who want to give it a go, with courses starting in January.

Louise Cawte, Swansea Gymnastics Co-ordinator says “These sessions have been developed to benefit the baby in terms of balance, stability and co-ordination as well as being fun. For the parent, it can be good for postnatal depression, helps parents relax, as well as providing an opportunity to socialise with other parents.”

Currently, gymnastics is on offer in all Active Swansea sites, and includes trampolining, street cheer and tumblies.

Louise continues “Gymnastics introduces people from a very early age, to the benefits of a healthy life style leading to a huge variety of opportunities and rewarding non-competitive and competitive sport. Taking part in a sport like gymnastics not only gives participants a huge amount of pleasure but also encourages self-confidence and develops motivated, fit and happy people.”

To book on to the free taster session, and to book on the 6 week course which starts on January 14, contact Morriston Leisure Centre on 01792 797082. The 6 week course costs £24.60, £18 PTL. Spaces are limited so parents are advised to book sessions in advance. These sessions are not suitable for confident walkers.
