The King of Pop's Hits to A LATIN SALSA Beat

Dec. 1, 2010 - PRLog -- ROCK WITH YOU - The King of Pop Latin Style is a celebration of music and dance masterpieces made famous by the late, great Michael Jackson, done with a hot Latin beat and re-orchestrated to rhythms such as Salsa, Cha-cha-cha, Merengue, Bachata, Reggaeton and even some Latin Hip Hop. This is not a Michael Jackson impersonation show but rather a unique twist on his music, moves and persona based on Latin rhythms and dance. Don't miss the Los Angeles premiere and holiday run, December 23, 2010 - January 2, 2011 at the historic El Portal Theatre in the NoHo Arts District.

A perfect holiday outing for the entire family, appropriate for all ages, ROCK WITH YOU is a high-energy, Broadway style review starring Caribbean-born and New York-trained Seaon Stylist Bristol, a jazz singer and world-renowned Salsa dancer and choreographer. Seaon, creator, director, choreographer and lead dancer, also sings all the songs live accompanied by a full cast of dancers, singers and an all-star Salsa and Latin-Jazz band. Audiences will be on their feet applauding, dancing and singing along to such Michael Jackson hits as Human Nature, Liberian Girl, Remember the Time, Can You Feel It and many more…all with an irresistible Latin beat.

“Michael Jackson’s music already uplifts our spirits,” says creator Seaon Stylist Bristol. “And when you add the element of salsa and Latin rhythms with all of the spice, you just want to dance and move. It’s a fun, family show perfect for the holidays.”

After the sudden death of music legend Michael Jackson, Seaon Stylist Bristol immersed himself into creating a unique show dedicated to the music and performance of the King of Pop as seen and heard through Seaon’s Caribbean eyes and ears.

Seaon (pronounced C-on) Stylist Bristol’s appreciation for music, dance and Michael Jackson began in his hometown of Georgetown, Guyana. He was always a natural singer and dancer and was influenced by Michael Jackson’s magnetic stage presence and skill.

“The very first time I ever saw TV my cousins and I watched Michael Jackson's Thriller video on our downstairs neighbors’ TV in Guyana. We were hiding and peeking through their half-open door,” reminisces Seaon. “From that mesmerizing moment I knew I wanted to perform.”

In his teens, Seaon moved to New York City and began private voice training and studied with the Razz M Tazz Dance Company and later with the Eddie Torres Dance Company. For more than 15 years, Seaon has been a renowned Salsa dancer and choreographer with repeat appearances in cities such as Berlin, Hong Kong, New York, Paris, Tokyo, Seoul and San Francisco.  His unique dance styling ability and reputation, in both the roles as a leader and a follower, earned him the nickname Seaon "Stylist." As an innovative dancer, Seaon's elegance, grace and pure rhythmic interpretation is much admired and copied. As an instructor, his care and detailed attention to musicality, turn patterns and footwork demands precision and concentration from his students.

As a jazz singer, Seaon is known for his ability to scat, a lively interpretation of lyrics and a sophisticated musicality that few singers possess. With nearly perfect pitch, a two and a half octave range, his clear tenor voice is sometimes compared to legends like Jimmy Scott & Billie Holiday. "Seaon has an incredibly polished sound that is extremely rare in many vocalists of this era," says Grammy nominee R&B singer Kenny Lattimore.

“My different careers as dancer, choreographer and singer have taken me on separate adventures around the world,” says Seaon. “This show connects those paths to each other and to all the things I’m passionate about…It’s exciting and fun! I couldn’t be more grateful this holiday season.”

ROCK WITH YOU - The King of Pop Latin Style is not a Michael Jackson impersonation show but rather a celebration of his music to a variety of Latin rhythms, mainly Salsa. Seaon tested the waters with an experimental pilot performance at Cafe Cócomo in San Francisco in July 2009 to sold-out audiences.  He further developed the show and presented it as a two-day workshop at the Cowell Theater in San Francisco in January 2010. This holiday season, L.A. audiences can experience this NYC-bound joyous and spicy Latin salute to some of Michael Jackson's greatest hits at the historic El Portal Theatre in the NoHo Arts District.
