Nov. 30, 2010 - PRLog -- The Children’s Advocacy Center of Southwest Florida (CAC) is pleased to announce they have received a generous grant in the amount of $3,000 from Macy’s.

The funds will be put towards the Teen Trauma Program, which provides therapeutic counseling for adolescents ages 12-17. The program’s goal is to teach teens effective coping skills to overcome trauma and improve acting-out behaviors.

“The Teen Trauma program supports many struggling young people in our community” commented Diane Connell, Director of Development of CAC. “This grant will enable us to expand the program further.”

The Children's Advocacy Center of Southwest Florida, a United Way partner agency, is a crisis center that works with sexually and physically abused children and is designed to be a safe and friendly place for them to come and be heard and help them get on the road to recovery.
