“The timeless design style associated with Russell Page - bold structure, strong clean lines, masterful plant selection, and proper restraint boldly shows through in the works of James Doyle Design Associates. Their body of work also confirms that they express equal reverence for modern as well as classical design,” says William Healy, APLD, chairman of the APLD Awards Committee.
The judging panel was comprised of well known experts in the field including: Robin Templar Williams, APLD, FSGD; C. Colston Burell; Norman K. Booth, FASLA; W. Gary Smith, ASLA; Julie Moir Messervy, Mark Gregory and Susan Appleget Hurst.
“The challenge of designing the landscape at Harmony Farm was to bring out the best in the site that it had to offer. We were able to take a sloping site and turn it into a series of terraces that then linked different parts of the property in a much more episodic way,” said James Doyle, founder of James Doyle Design Associates. These newly created spaces add more character and depth to the property and how it is experienced.”
“Winning both the Gold and Landscape Designer of the Year award from APLD is a great honor. While we get great satisfaction from designing landscapes for clients and having them find renewed enjoyment out of their property, it is equally as gratifying to be recognized by our peers for the work we do.” said Doyle.
