Admire Plastic Surgery Recognized at Komen Race for the Cure for Largest Number of Cancer Survivors

Nov. 29, 2010 - PRLog -- Admire Plastic Surgery was recently recognized at the 18th Annual Komen Phoenix Race for the Cure as the team with the largest number of breast cancer survivors. The team was recognized on the main podium at the end of the race.

“Aside from skin cancer, breast cancer is the most common form of cancer in women. I am honored that so many of my surviving patients teamed up with us to raise awareness and make a difference in the fight against breast cancer.” said Anthony A. Admire, M.D., owner of Admire Plastic Surgery, PLLC.

Over 40 cancer survivors signed up to walk with Team Admire, with merely 100 participating on the team. Dr. Admire hosted a patient brunch following the walk to honor all surviving breast cancer patients and their family and friends.

Scottsdale Resident Kerry Press is a breast cancer survivor of two years and has been involved with walking for the Cure since. This year, Press was a part of Team Admire.

“It is an overwhelming feeling from two perspectives. First, you feel so much love and support from every walker. Second, it is overwhelming the number of people who are touched and feel a part of it and it gives me an added since of strength to continue my fight,” Press said. “Then when you have a team like Dr. Admire’s who understand 100 percent your feelings and thoughts and vision for breast cancer, you come home with a new found energy and spark rather it be fighting it, inspiring others, or helping them fight it.”
