Nov. 27, 2010 - PRLog -- Clark Philippines’ role as the new capital city for investment and tourism was bolstered byManila’s poor safety record.  Many businesses and travel tour groups choose to avoid Manila in favor of Clark Freeport Zone after recent bus hostage crisis which threw a stigma over Manila’s law and order situation.

Philippines, Pampanga, Clark Freeport Zone is located just 70km north of Metro Manila and is conveniently accessible via the newly refurbished NLEX highway which eliminates all city-driving between the two cities.  Moreover, Clark Philippines has its own major international airport DMIA Clark International Airport which links Clark to all major cities in Asia and therefore, the world.

Local residents of Manila, Pampanga Angeles City, Clark Philippines and Subic are fast acquiring a taste for good Korean food.  Many diners are not entirely satisfied with the quality of Korean cuisine served in local Korean restaurants.  One establishment in Pampanga is about to rectify that.  This project located inside Clark Pampanga will bring Korean cuisine to internal fine-dining levels.

Recent events such as the tourist bus hostage crisis which took the lives of several Hong Kong tourists, caused Manila to lose a lot of its luster.  Visitors eyeing the Philippines as a destination of leisure, vacation, business investment, career or retirement begin to shift their focus on to the heir-apparent, Clark Philippines.

Clark became a Freeport Zone after the Americans returned it to the Philippines government during the Pinatubo volcano eruption.  Prior to that, it was Clark Airbase, the largest US military base outside of American soil.  The US Air Force left behind not only a large airport with two long runways, larger than Manila’s NAIA airport, but also the infrastructure of a world-class suburban city.   Today, several wings of the Philippines Air Force take up residence in Clark, further bolstering Clark’s already good security controls, making Clark Freeport Zone the safest city not only in the Philippines but among all major cities in Asia.

Safety and security is not the only reason tourist, retirees and investors eye Clark Philippines as a destination of choice for their respective agendas.  Frequently being compared to its sibling Manila, Clark Freeport also shines in categories such as low air pollution levels, practically no traffic issues to speak of and an abundance of trees and green vegetation.

Tourism was slow to take off in the 90s in Clark Philippines mainly because of the lack of initiative and management competence of the governing body called Clark Development Corporation or CDC.   However private investments and marketing efforts of stakeholders called Clark locators have put Clark on the tourism map when fine leisure, entertainment, wine and dine establishments are added to the features and attractions of Clark Freeport.  Today, although Clark is still a lazy town filled with peace and tranquility, this city near Manila has lots more to offer.  Here are some examples:

This resort hotel is developed and operated by a Hong Kong-based company to revive the suburban lifestyle left behind by the Americans during the times when Clark as a US Airbase.  The 13-hectare resort has a 3-hectare lake surrounded by a beach and several large and small swim-spots, picnic gardens, campsites, venues for weddings and company picnics and outings of all sizes and a small number of hotel rooms of various styles, some right on the edge of the lake while others are among the many large Acacia trees that grace the grounds of this hotel in Clark Philippines.  For more information check out http://www.ClearwaterPhilippines.com.
