Rock Steady’s live show is an experience like no other! Jamie Landry on vocals is spot on delivering classic rock songs as if they were written for her personally. Her love for the music and her passion for the crowd is evident as their fans turn out in droves to experience rock hits performed by finely seasoned musicians who deliver tightly orchestrated versions of the hits we all love. There is a purity... a rawness - and an amazing amount of energy that is generated from this line up. Each member has to be confident, proficient and able to fill up the space - as well as let the music breath!
Jamie Landry - Vocals / Jamie Landry grew up in South Louisiana before moving to Seattle about 10 years ago. Determined she would know “good music”, her mother raised her on Journey, Boston, the Eagles, Fleetwood Mac, and Van Halen. Her father, one of nine children in a highly musical family, also brought a strong musical influence to her life, and always encouraged her to develop her singing abilities. Jamie was a member of Sector7G for about two years before she excitedly joined Rock Steady. With her love of all genres of music, Jamie’s major influences are Led Zeppelin, Heart, Journey, Kelly Clarkson, Pink, Carrie Underwood, and Martina McBride.
Dave Wilson - Guitar, Backing Vocals / Dave has lived in the Seattle area most of his life, playing guitar in an eclectic mix of different bands and musical projects in several genres, including rock, progressive rock, jazz, acoustic and gospel. A life-long devotee to the six-string, Dave cites his primary influences as Jimmy Page, Roy Buchannan, Bruce Cockburn, David Gilmour, Steve Howe and the Beatles.
Dave Lavin - Bass, Backing Vocals/ Dave is a Seattle area native and has played in several well regarded bands during his music career which has taken him from pop to blues to R&B and gospel. However, in Rock Steady Dave gets to once again explore his favorite genre, straight up classic rock! Dave takes particular pride (and joy!) in locking in tight with drummer David Nielsen. Along with providing reliable chops on bass, Dave brings solid lead and backing vocals to augment those provided by lead vocalist Jamie Landry and guitarist Dave Wilson. More than anything Dave loves to see people dancing and having fun. Rock Steady baby!!
David Nielsen - Drums / David grew up overseas in Japan as a self-described “military brat” before moving to Seattle. His father was a major audiophile so his exposure to music started very early. He remembers kicking back in his mother’s womb listening to Benny Goodman, the Mills Brothers, Count Basie and many others. David recorded and toured with Japanese pop star Ann Lewis and also toured Japan with Heart - working as Michael Derosier’s drum tech. David has also played in several Seattle-area bands. David has been passionate about playing the drums for quite some time. He considers the “groove” to be everything - and views his “job” as setting the tone, the tempo, sitting in the pocket, and being the backbone of the band with his counter-part of the rhythm section, Dave Lavin.
