Picture Perfect is a thoroughly compelling read. In it, author Deatri King-Bey presents the reader with a strikingly realistic portrait of the typically unpredictable paradigm of family life. In the Reynolds family, King-Bey has created a microcosm of the stress, drama, and unforeseen tribulations representative of the everyday struggles that families go through, highlighting the fact that not all problems have quick and easy solutions. Furthermore, she tackles the complicated legacy of familial curses, effectively displaying the damage that they cause from one generation to the next if true healing is never achieved.
Surprisingly emotional and powerfully real, Picture Perfect takes the reader on an eye-opening journey through the dark realities of family life. A highly recommended read.
