Nov. 24, 2010 - PRLog -- The Kwanzaa Collective will be hosting their 35th annual "Keeping Kwanzaa in the Tradition" celebration, on Sunday, December 26, 2010 from 3 - 9 PM, at Boys and Girls High School, located at 1700 Fulton Street, Brooklyn, New York, a cultural Mecca in the heart of Bedford Stuyvesant.  

The Kwanzaa Collective is a consortium of cultural organizations formulated in Central Brooklyn over three decades ago.  The Kwanzaa Collective was founded on the principle of Umoja or Unity and they will be presenting their 35th annual theme "Keeping Kwanzaa in the Tradition" which is a celebratory event for culturally relevant programs each year.  They also offer a variety of opportunities for individuals and organizations to give back to the community, where individuals and organizations make contributions of resources and donations in support of the event programs.  

The Kwanzaa Collective will honor the legacy of Co-founder, Baba Mzee Moyo and acknowledge community leaders with the first annual Mzee Moyo Keeper of the Flame Award, in addition to the Youth Scholarship giveaway.  Other traditional features will include:  The pouring of libation to the ancestors, a candle lighting ceremony, a special line up of international and local entertainment, a discussion forum, food, networking and best of all... "Keeping Kwanzaa in the Tradition" is free to the community.
