Nov. 24, 2010 - PRLog -- Toronto, Canada (November 24, 2010) - Today Canada’s leading sugar-free natural Stevia sweetener KRISDA will launch its new look and expanded product offerings. Updated packaging graphics lend the brand a fresh new look that clearly communicates KRISDA is all natural, deliciously sweet and made with only premium natural ingredients. Improved packaging communication will help consumers learn that Krisda is a healthy alternative to potentially harmful artificial sweeteners like Splenda and Sweet N Low.  Krisda is also the ideal way to reduce or replace sugar in Canadian’s diets. Krisda has zero calories, zero carbohydrates, is gluten free, diabetic safe and will not promote tooth decay.

Four new products will add to the success of Krisda. A 200g Krisda baking format in a re-sealable stand-up bag will meet the growing demand for a convenient baking sweetener. “When we launched Krisda six years ago consumers were only using Krisda to sweeten coffee and tea. As more and more people convert to Krisda they are starting to bake with it. In the past year we have received a lot of requests from consumers for a convenient baking format.  Our consumers spoke, and we have responded with the launch of the 200g Krisda baking format,” says Mark Wilson, the Director of Marketing for Krisda. Also new is Krisda Cafe.  Krisda Cafe is an all natural line of flavoured coffee sweeteners that is available in three delicious flavours; vanilla, caramel and almond. Inspired by specialty European coffee houses, Krisda Cafe adds indulgence and complexity to coffee while sweetening it at the same time. Splenda has a similar line of products but they are made with potentially harmful chemicals.

“We decided to throw as many marketing tools as we can at the Krisda brand to help consumers learn about the benefits of Krisda and how to incorporate into a healthy diet,” explains Mr. Wilson. New Krisda packaging will wear a QR code which can be scanned by smart phones. By scanning the on-pack QR code with a Blackberry or iphone consumers’ devices will be automatically directed to the Krisda micro-site which will contain information about Krisda. (You will need to download a QR reader app for iphones).

“There are a number of really innovative things we can do with the QR code,” says Mr. Wilson. “We will have the ability to deploy instant win contests whereby consumers will scan the QR code in-store for a chance to win prizes and free product instantly.” No grocery list, no worries. The QR code will also enable retailers to capture incremental sales as consumers can access Krisda recipes instantly while in store to ensure they have all the ingredients necessary for baking a Krisda recipe.
