Nov. 24, 2010 - PRLog -- Viewster’s footprint increases with new Technisat deal

DIVA AG has completed a deal with TechniSat Digital GmbH to include its Viewster VoD widget on Technisat’s Hybrid set top boxes in 10 markets. The service will go live via the Technisat boxes in January 2011.

With Technisat enjoying set top box sales in excess of one million units per year, the deal expands DIVA’s ‘over the top’ delivery of its VoD movie and TV programme catalogue alongside its increasingly dominant presence via inclusion on major brand TV sets.

“Of course viewers now want to decide for themselves exactly when they watch the programmes they wish to see”, said Elmar Möller, Technisat’s IPTV Content Manager. “We are keen to cater for this exciting trend, and have decided to include applications on our boxes which offer users quality programming on this basis. Customers want access to premium movies at any time, and we feel confident that our cooperation with DIVA AG offers them real added value.”

Day and Date releases and free content for Technisat users through Viewster

Since its establishment in 1987, TechniSat has been a leader in the supply of satellite reception and digital technology products throughout Europe.

Viewster will give users of Technisat boxes access to an extensive catalogue of movies and TV series, which they will be able to buy individually, in packages, or on subscription basis. They will also benefit from free to view movies paid carrying advertising content.

DIVA adds further action, comedy, thriller and other popular genre new release movies (along with further hit TV series) to its already extensive catalogue on a continuous basis. Where possible, Technisat box users will be able to enjoy releases Day and Date.

Fresh content, plus additional support for expatriate users

DIVA refreshes some 20 percent of its catalogue each year, with each title being offered for at least 3 months. This means users of Technisat’s set top boxes can look forward to a consistently varied and exciting choice of viewing.

Technisat box users belonging to expatriate communities in the markets involved will also now be able to locate and view top quality minority content, with Viewster providing access to the best Turkish, Russian and Arabic movies and drama series.
