Second Director of Business Development appointment this year for Agilysys (Europe) Limited

Nov. 24, 2010 - PRLog -- Agilysys (Europe) Limited, part of Agilysys, Inc. , a leading provider of innovative information technology, retail and hospitality software solutions, has announced a further executive appointment.  Nigel Allport, an experienced business development leader in the field of hospitality technology, takes up the position of Director of Business Development – EMEA.

Allport brings 25 years’ experience of technology solutions, gained in both the insurance & financial services and hospitality sectors, to his new role.  He joins Agilysys from SoftBrands Hospitality, an affiliate of Infor, where he was responsible for all aspects of European and African sales and tactical marketing, including managing the EMEA reseller channel.  

Nigel Allport is a well-known figure on the hospitality industry conference circuit and has presented at events run by the British Association of Hospitality Accountants (BAHA), Hostec and Hotel Technology Next Generation (HTNG).

Allport’s career commenced as an auditor for a firm of Chartered Accountants, specialising in hotels, He subsequently spent 10 years with Misys plc, a global supplier of specialist software to banking, financial services and hospitality.  His employment with Misys culminated in his holding the role of National Sales Manager for the Innsite Hotel Services division.

Nigel Allport lives in Stratford-upon-Avon.  He is married and has a university-age daughter.  A keen sportsman, Allport recently started to cycle competitively.  He has ridden in a number of long distance charity cycle rides including a 90-mile ride in Austin Texas for the LIVESTRONG cancer charity.
