Follow on Google News | CEWR Announces A Community Forum - Water Rate Increase by CLWSCThe Coalition for Equitable Water Rates (CEWR) has announced that they will host a Public Forum at the GVTC Auditorium in New Braunfels on December 15, 2010 to provide an update on the protest of the proposed 71% water rate increase by CLWSC.
The Forum will include a CEWR update and remarks by invited guests State Representative Doug Miller, County Commissioners Donna Eccleston and Jan Kennady. State Senator Jeff Wentworth has been invited and as yet his attendance remains unconfirmed. The public forum will afford attendees the opportunity to hear how the water rate increase will affect them, what the CEWR is doing to challenge the increase, and what they can do to help to support the protest of CLWSC’s proposed rate increase. The CEWR indicated that it had been given official status as a party to the proposed rate increase protest by the Texas Commission of Environmental Quality (TCEQ). The TCEQ has not finalized a preliminary hearing date for involved parties to argue their cases.
