Tickets on sale now for “Denver Big Air” international ski and snowboard competition

Tickets are now on sale for one of the most amazing athletic spectacles ever to be staged in Downtown Denver - Denver Big Air, an international ski and snowboard competition that will take place on a 101-foot high ramp in the heart of Denver.
 
Nov. 23, 2010 - PRLog -- DENVER - The Metro Denver Sports Commission announced tickets for the Jan. 25 and 26, 2011 “Denver Big Air presented by Sprint,” one of the most amazing athletic spectacles to ever staged in Downtown Denver, are now on sale to the general public and are available at http://www.denverbigair.com; paid viewing passes are only $45.00 for a single-day pass, $80.00 for a two-day pass. Daily VIP passes are $100.00 and include food, beverages and premium viewing.

The two-day event revolves around world-class skiers and snowboarders flying off an amazing 101-foot high ramp that will be built and covered with snow in the heart of Downtown Denver at Civic Center Park between the Colorado State Capitol building and the City and County of Denver building. World-class competitors will zoom down the 100-foot high ramp and launch themselves in the air to execute gravity-defying, breathtaking acrobatics on snowboards and skis. All paid attendees will have preferred viewing inside the competition area. Limited no-charge, semi-obstructed viewing outside of the paid viewing area will be available in designated areas on a first come, first served basis the day of the event.

Denver Big Air presented by Sprint will kick off the huge SnowSports Industries America Snow Show, one of the largest annual industry trade shows in the world. Denver Big Air opens with the Nature Valley Big Air Challenge, a freestyle skiing Big Air event on Tuesday, Jan. 25. Day two, Wednesday, Jan. 26, will feature the International Ski Federation's (FIS) LG FIS World Cup Snowboard Big Air, a sanctioned event on the established global snowboarding circuit with an international roster of the top male snowboarders from around the world.

“It's not every day we have the chance to build a ski mountain in the middle of our city. We are very excited about Denver Big Air playing a major role in Denver being ground zero for the international skiing industry that week,” said KieAnn Brownell, president of the Metro Denver Sports Commission.
