Community Auditions Announces the 2010 Finalists

Nov. 23, 2010 - PRLog -- NEW YORK – After much anticipation, Community Auditions released the official list of 12 finalists that will be competing on December 5 at the MGM Grand Theater at Foxwoods Resort Casino for a chance to win the Grand Champion title, a Subaru Impreza and a record produced by the legendary Bob Johnston who has written and produced for music greats like Bob Dylan, Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, Simon and Garfunkel, and Elvis Presley, among others. According to CEO and Executive Producer of Community Auditions, Chuck Armstrong, “We’re really excited about our 2010 finalists – it’s the most talented cast we’ve had to date.”

Hailing from all over New England, the 2010 Community Auditions finalists are: Lucia!, Kion Simmons, Anna Nyakana, T.C. Foxx, The Siracusa Project, Heather James, Tamar St. Julien, Anthony Houston, Kels Ferguson, Adrienne Nails, Mia Boostrom, and Ashley Tucker.

“Being on Community Auditions has been such an awesome experience and I've met such great musicians,” says four-star winner and 2010 finalist, Kels Ferguson. “This is no simple karaoke gig. This is the real deal and it is a total honor to be a part of it.”

Community Auditions fans can have the unique experience of watching the Finals live by attending the taping on December 5. “There is a feeling you get when you are there that you can’t get when you watch it on TV,” says lead singer of Finals contender The Siracusa Project. “Being in that beautiful theater, hearing the amazing house band live, and seeing all the performers in a real setting blows away a television screen.”

The live studio audience can cheer on their favorite finalists and will be the first to find out who will be crowned 2010 Grand Champion. Audience members will also have the chance to win big – Community Auditions will be giving prizes away all day long. Even New England’s favorite celebrity personalities, such as Joyce Kulhawik, Ernie Boch Jr., Barry Nolan, Sib Hashian, Elaina Mango, Steve Sweeney, Livingston Taylor, Candy O’Terry, Gail Huff, and Ramiro, will be in attendance so don’t miss out!

Now in its 42nd season on air, “Community Auditions: Star of the Day” is the longest-running entertainment series in television history.  Each episode features three New England performers competing to become the “Star of the Day” and thus eligible for prizes ranging from a new Subaru to the production of their own showcase CD by Bob Johnston, who has produced million-selling albums for such artists as Bob Dylan and Johnny Cash. Contestants are rated by a three- judge panel made up of radio DJs, producers and other entertainment experts.
