Feeding the Hungry - New "God's Pack" Video

Nov. 23, 2010 - PRLog -- When it comes to helping others, age is not a factor.  At Rescue Mission in Oxnard, CA, kids are encouraged to help.   Every single day, volunteers and staff workers at Rescue Mission serve breakfast, lunch and dinner — making as many as 900 meals per day!

The National Alliance to End Homelessness says that on any given night in the US, 671,859 people are without a home or shelter.  Ellen Prince says, "People don't know what it is like.  They don't understand."  Ellen and her son, Anthony, have been homeless for three years--living at shelters, inside cars and the street.  Their family relies on Rescue Mission for food and assistance.

Now, more than ever, food banks need donations and shelters need volunteers.

What does it take to get involved?  What can you expect at a shelter? …Follow the call and you’ll soon discover you can make a difference just like Emma (7) and Colin (10).  These youngsters got involved with Oxnard Rescue Mission two years ago.  it started as a family service project. and they are still doing it.  Once a month they donate two hours of their time to feed the hungry and less fortunate.
