Mitch Hires Named Associate of Year at Atlanta Housing Award Ceremony

Nov. 22, 2010 - PRLog -- ATLANTA – Mitch Hires, president of Construction Resources, a Decatur-based company that provides residential and commercial builders, remodelers and home owners with a one-stop shop for specialty construction projects was named Associate of the Year at the 30th Annual OBIE Awards on Nov. 13 at the Intercontinental Hotel in Buckhead.

The Sales and Marketing Council of the Home Builders Association presents its annual OBIE Awards every November. The OBIE Awards, which began in 1980, have grown consistently and now feature more than 100 building, remodeling, marketing and personal achievement categories in which one can enter. The awards are the highest honor given in the Atlanta housing industry.

The Associate of the Year award recognizes an associate member for his or her accomplishments in the areas of service to the housing industry and association, professional excellence and community involvement.

“It is always a great honor to be recognized for your efforts,” said Hires. “We understand the importance of being involved with the Atlanta community and specifically the Home Builder’s Association (HBA). They do so many great things for so many people.”

Through Construction Resources, Hires, a member of the HBA for nearly 10 years, has been at the forefront of donating building materials and design services during the construction of the HBA’s current housing center. He has served on the HBA Board of Directors for the past seven years and has also been a member of the HBA Board’s Executive Committee for the last two years.

Hires has also been a proud supporter of HomeAid Atlanta, the HBA’s official charity. His company has donated and installed a combination of kitchen countertops, cultured marble vanity tops, sinks, mirrors and wire shelving for several transitional housing projects in partnership with HomeAid Atlanta. In addition, Construction Resources has also regularly participated in Project Playhouse® and Fairway to Heaven®, two of HomeAid’s annual fundraisers.
