NSAFS boosts support for businesses in the South of England

The National Skills Academy for Financial Services (NSAFS) is boosting its presence in the South of England to support employers in the important financial services sector with the appointment of Trevor Child as Business Development Manager.

Nov. 22, 2010 - PRLog -- The National Skills Academy for Financial Services (NSAFS) is boosting its presence in the South of England to support employers in the important financial services sector with the appointment of Trevor Child as Business Development Manager.

The UK financial services industry employs about 120,000 people in the South East alone, with significant industry hubs including Brighton, Bournemouth and Southampton. Trevor will work with financial services businesses across the region, from Kent to Cornwall, supporting companies move forward by investing in relevant skills and training for their staff.

A big focus of Trevor’s work will be helping financial advisers and companies prepare for the Retail Distribution Review (RDR) and provide general business advice. Trevor joins Stephen Smith, Regional Director for the South East, in helping small-to-large employers equip staff with the qualifications and abilities necessary to strengthen and develop their workforce.

Sylvia Perrins, CEO of NSAFS, commented: “Trevor has an excellent understanding of the skills necessary to help drive the financial services industry forward and is aware of the commercial challenges businesses in the region face.  He will help drive NSAFS’ mission to grow talent and build professionalism with his wealth of experience and wide-ranging knowledge of industry issues and skills requirements.”  

Trevor will be based in Southern England where he will be well placed to understand employer’s business needs and encourage investment in training and development in local businesses. He has more than 25 years experience in the financial services industry with companies such as Halifax, TSB Group and PHH Europe. He joins the National Skills Academy for Financial Services from Capital Home Loans, where he was head of Sales and Marketing.
