Nov. 20, 2010 - PRLog -- There are books out there that have nothing but recipes that well-known restaurants use. Applebees, Red Lobster, The Cheesecake Factory, and KFC just to name a few. Besides these recipes that shows you how to make food that taste like your favorite restaurant - there is a good reason to use these type of recipes: It saves money. How? Well, you stay home and can have the food cooked just like you're a well known restaurant does. So let's look at how you will save money by staying home and making restaurant type entrees or desserts.

( For more information on how to receive hundreds of recipes, see

Inflation: The price of food is going up. Basically, since the Federal Government is in debt and printing money like no tomorrow, inflation will eventually go nuts. One of the first things that go up is food. That's just a fact. So going out to eat will be a luxury. Of course, your food at the groceries will go up as well, but spending $50 for a meal (two people) versus cooking a restaurant style dish will save you a lot of money.

No tipping: I bet there are no waiters or waitresses at your house - right? Well guess what - you don't have to tip then. I know at some nice restaurants you'll get a $100 dollar bill and you'll have to pay 20% on top of that as a tip. So there's a few bucks you can save there. However, your better half that makes the meal may want to be tipped (or at least have the dishes washed).

Gas prices: This is more of a variable, since gas seems to go up and down - but you don't have to drive to a restaurant. Yes, you do have to get the food to make the entrees, but you can buy them whenever you get your weekly groceries. So make sure you plan ahead. Also - if you really want to get technical about it, over the long haul, it will save wear and tear on your car.

No babysitter: You don't have to hire a teen-age babysitter to come over (sometimes, you have to pick them up) and watch the kids. And come on - do you really think that the babysitter really cares that much about your kids. They'll stick your children in front of the television while they snoop around your house (ok - I might be a little cynical). So there's twenty bucks there you'll be saving.

So if the economy gets worse where you can't really afford to have your family go out and enjoy a meal - don't worry. You can always find an e-book that has the recipe secrets of the most known restaurants in this country.
