£50,000 investment placed in the hands of 100,000 Naked customers

PRLog (Press Release) - Nov. 19, 2010 - Naked Wines, an online wine retailer which ships wine throughout the UK, is offering their 'Winemaker of the Year 2010' a £50,000 investment to create a new wine - as voted by their customers.

UK online wine retailer Naked Wines, who invests in independent winemakers in return for preferential prices, has asked customers to decide the fate of a £50,000 investment.  

The company has pledged to invest the sum towards the 'Winemaker of the year 2010', as voted by their 100,000 customers, and the money will be used to create a new, exclusive wine for the site.

"It's time for our customers to vote with their feet," explained Rowan Gormley, Founder of Naked Wines. "The four winemakers whove made the shortlist are all worthy winners, so the only fair way to decide is to let the customers pick for themselves - especially with £50,000 up for grabs."

Each winemaker has posted a pitch on the website, including which wine they plan to make if they win, to help customers decide.  

The shortlist and their proposed wines:

1)Connie and Felipe Garcia, Chile: A Carmenere

2)Jock Harvey, Australia: A Shiraz and Sangiovese blend

3)Benjamin Darnault, France: A Carignan and Grenache blend

4)Stephen de Wet, South Africa: A Shiraz and Viognier blend
