Background of the Horticulture Department:
Students in the Environmental Design program study floral design, landscaping, hardscaping, greenhouse management and turfgrass management. Student’s best learn these skills through hands-on projects such as landscaping the WMCTC house project, creating an interior- scape at the Montgomery County Geriatric Center, landscaping of the Montgomery County Court House and Royersford Elementary School. Students also create many floral designs for area events such as Chamber of Commerce meetings, school functions and many weddings. The student sponsored sales is a venue for the students to have interaction with customers while seeing the value of their hard work. The students are earning the reputation of doing outstanding work for a reasonable cost to the consumer.
