Nov. 18, 2010 - PRLog -- Horseshoe Adventure Park, which opened to critical acclaim this past Canada Day, has been named Tourism Barrie’s ‘Best New Tourism Product’ for 2010.

The award recognizes “a business or organization that has developed a new tourism site, service, event, experience or attraction that enhances tourism in the Barrie area”. The honor was bestowed upon Horseshoe Resort’s senior managers at the ‘Toast to Tourism’ event on November 4th. This was the first year Tourism Barrie has given out awards at its annual ceremony.

“This is a very exciting award to receive in an area like Barrie, which has so many incredible tourism destinations,” said Christine Jamieson, Horseshoe Resort’s Vice-President of Marketing and Public Relations. “It’s one more reason for our entire team to feel proud of our accomplishments, and a positive way to wrap up our summer season as we turn our focus to what is shaping up to be an awesome winter.”

“Tourism Barrie is proud to represent businesses, like Horseshoe Resort, that continue to provide great, unique experiences for visitors to the Barrie area,” said Pamela Bothwright, Tourism Development Officer for Tourism Barrie. “A panel of judges reviewed all the submissions and voted unanimously on the best ones. We are pleased to congratulate Horseshoe Adventure Park for earning this achievement.”

Horseshoe Adventure Park features seven main attractions: Zorbing, Zip Flyer, Summer and Winter Tubing, Climbing Wall, Downhill Mountain Biking Trails, Ridgetop Mini Golf, and a Skate Park.

All of the attractions at Horseshoe Adventure Park are closed from October 25 – December 17 for maintenance. Winter Tubing, Climbing Wall and Zip Flyer are scheduled to reopen on December 17, weather permitting.
