The Crystal & The Child is an enjoyable fantasy/Sci-Fi tale. Brief yet compelling, author Valerie Froehlich’s debut novel treads familiar narrative ground, but the combination of her engaging storytelling style and unique characters helps paint her tale in a refreshing, endearing light. Clearly geared towards a younger audience, The Crystal & The Child is sure to capture the imaginations of teens and pre-teens who can appreciate a well-told story highlighting the rewards of embracing our own unique individuality.
