Nov. 18, 2010 - PRLog -- NEW YORK, NY: Faso Foods, a Maryland based food importer, has an aggressive and unique roll-out strategy for 2011, penetrate specialty and gourmet retailers in the North and Mid Atlantic with high end products that have ties to Africa. This strategy is particularly important to the Faso Foods founder and president, Losseni Kone.

Kone was born in the Ivory Coast, studied global economics in both Germany and the United States, and cultivated his professional career as an international tax specialist, global business strategist and economist throughout Europe, the U.S and his native Africa. His experience in all three continents has allowed him to recognize the subtleties in palates and identify a prime business opportunity, deriving from streamlining the global food supply chain.

African food products currently have a strong presence in the international and ethnic grocery market, Kone’s goal is to position African products as specialty items. Faso Foods represents products that are imported directly from Africa in addition to products from other countries where at least sixty percent of the finished products are made from African raw ingredients.

“I saw an opportunity to streamline the export process from an African standpoint and to support non-African brands who engage in fair trade and make a concerted effort to do business with African suppliers.”

Faso Foods currently represents Moriba brand herbal teas and fruit juice concentrates, Nutfields brand macadamia and cashew nuts, and Grashoff brand chocolate spreads and fruit jams.
