Arizona Science Center and Sheraton Wild Horse Pass Resort & Spa Present Native American Storytelling & Science Under the Stars

 
PRLog - Nov. 17, 2010 - PHOENIX -- Sheraton Wild Horse Pass Resort & Spa and Arizona Science Center partner to bring you a unique cultural heritage and scientific exploration under the stars!

Expanded from last year’s event, an all new version of Native American Storytelling & Science Under the Stars will be featured at Arizona Science Center on Friday, Nov. 26 at 11 a.m. with a special presentation in the world class Dorrance Planetarium. Discover the culture of the Pima & Maricopa tribes as honored Storytelling and Song Program Host Tim Terry and the staff of the Dorrance Planetarium present a special family hour of storytelling and science while exploring the connection between native tribal communities and the celestial Arizonan sky. A special encore program presented by planetarium staff will take place on Saturday, Nov. 27 at 11 a.m. The events are presented free, with paid general admission to Arizona Science Center.

The stories will continue under the stars on Saturday, Dec. 4, from 5:30–9:30 p.m., at the beautiful Sheraton Wild Horse Pass Resort & Spa! The culmination of celebrated stories from the ancient cultures of the Pima and Maricopa Tribes, told by Tim Terry, will explore the night sky above and discover the ancient connection to local Arizona tribes and the stars. Hands-on astronomy activities, telescope sky viewing and cultural artisans will be on-hand for guests to enjoy at the Dec. 4 event.
