The New 2011 Ford Edge SUV has been delivered to Waxahachie Ford Dealership

Nov. 17, 2010 - PRLog -- Significant changes on the new 2011 Ford Edge include revolutionary touch controls for the stereo and entertainment systems, optional MyFord Touch interface that replaces the traditional button controls with touchscreens and a five-way controller.

The 2011 Ford Edge is available in four trims: the base SE, SEL, Limited and Sport. The four trims come with either front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive.

The new Edge is equipped with a powerful 3.5-liter V6 engine that delivers 285 horsepower coupled with a six-speed automatic transmission. Both SEL and Limited models come with a SelectShift Automatic with manual shifting model. Sport models come with a 3.7-liter V6 engine, 305 horsepower and paired with the six-speed SelectShift Automatic transmission with paddle activation.


The 2011 Ford Edge can seat up to five, offering 32.2 cubic feet of cargo space behind the second row and 68.9 cubic feet overall with that row folded down.

Safety features for the new 2011 Edge include dual-stage front airbags, front seat-mounted side-impact airbags and side curtain airbags, four-wheel disc anti-lock brakes, and AdvanceTrac with Roll Stability Control. Ford introduces a unique feature on the new Edge called MyKey that allows parents to set speed and audio limits for their teen drivers. Another unique feature is the SOS Post-Crash Alert System; the system reacts in event of an accident by flashing the hazard lights and sounds the horn.
