The Women’s Business Development Council (WBDC), the leader of entrepreneurial and financial training for women in Connecticut, offers numerous programs to help people start or improve their own business. GENERAL PROGRAMS

Financial Walk-in Days—WBDC is offering free Financial Walk-In Days with a counselor who will assist clients with a variety of business and personal financial issues.

Waterbury: Thursday, December 9 from 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. at the Naugatuck Valley Community College, 750 Chase Parkway, Founders Hall, 3rd Floor.

Exploring Entrepreneurship—This WBDC free seminar gives aspiring business owners insight into what they need to start a business. Participants will determine the feasibility of their ideas and visions. No charge, but registration is requested. Fairfield: Monday, December 6 from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at the Fairfield Public Library, 1080 Old Post Road

Business Information Sessions (BIS)- Discover WBDC’s resources for business and professional development. Attend a free BIS and learn how WBDC's programs and services can provide you with the tools to prepare for your future through self-employment and professional development. No charge/Registration required.

New Haven: Wednesday, December 1 from 5:30 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at the Greater New Haven Chamber of Commerce, 900 Chapel St # 1000, New Haven

One-on-One Internet Training—WBCD offers a chance for individuals to upgrade skills and optimize the potential for success in today’s marketplace! Learn how to obtain a free email account, send and receive email messages, set up an address book, and send attachments. Discover the benefits of using search engines, perform simple searches, and learn how to navigate to the web. No charge; call for an appointment. 203.353-1750 or 203.910-4663

Access To Capital - Alternative Small Business Loan Options- Join WBDC and our panel of commercial bankers, non-bank lenders and private investors to learn about opportunities to secure capital for your business. Gain an understanding between traditional and non traditional lenders, sources for alternative loans and the requirements needed to qualify. If you are ready to open or expand your business and want to know and understand the sources of capital available to you, don’t miss this informative seminar.

Shelton: Tuesday, December 7 from 6:00 p,n,-8:00 p.n. at the Greater Valley Chamber of Commerce, 900 Bridgeport Avenue, 2nd Floor.

Business Counseling—Meet with a WBDC business counselor for a one-on-one counseling session in marketing, finance and other concentrations. Appointment required; location and time TBD upon registration.

Business Sustainability/Access to Capital Assistance—Offered by WBDC “Business Sustainability and Access to Capital” counseling can assist and guide clients in key areas to grow their business. WBDC counselors will work with clients one-on-one to ensure they have a clear plan for moving their business forward. Counseling services include: fine-tuning a business plan; profitability and cash flow forecasting; review of financial statements; financial negotiation coaching; sales management training, and much more. Appointment required; locations/time to be determined upon registration. Fees contingent on needed services.
