In his testimony to The House Committee on Energy and Commerce June 3rd, 2003, Dr. Brad Rodu, DDS stated “Nicotine, while addictive, is about as safe as caffeine, another widely consumed addictive drug. It is tobacco smoke, with its thousands of toxic agents, that leads to cancer, heart disease, and emphysema. Eliminate the smoke, and you eliminate virtually all of the risk.” With that being said, is it really possible to eliminate the “smoke” from “smoking?” Find out on The Balancing Act, November 18th at 7:00 am (ET/PT) on Lifetime Television as Kevin Davis from Green Smoke Inc explains “electronic cigarettes,”
Instead of “lighting up,” the electronic cigarette user simply inhales through the device, which is identical to a tobacco cigarette in size and appearance. Vapor with or without nicotine enters the lungs, creating the same sensation as smoking, but without the smoke that comes from burning tobacco. Also missing is the lingering foul-smelling smoke regular cigarettes leave in the air that seems impossible to get out of hair, clothing and furniture.
“Green Smoke electronic cigarettes provide an alternative to smoking that still allows smokers to enjoy the sensation of a traditional cigarette” Davis says. “The Balancing Act is a great opportunity to educate viewers about this technology and its many potential benefits.”
In addition to offering smokers a chance to avoid the smoke produced by tobacco cigarettes, electronic cigarettes also offer incredible savings over regular cigs. In fact, a pack-a-day smoker could save over $1600 per year by switching to electronic cigarettes. In a sluggish economy with tobacco taxes continually on the rise, savings of this magnitude could be very beneficial to smokers across the country.
“Having Kevin Davis from Green Smoke Inc on ‘The Balancing Act’ has brought yet another great solution to women, one that will have a real impact, and help them balance their lives,” says Doug Campbell, Founder and Executive VP of Programming for The Balancing Act. “This is the essence of solutions-based programming, and we are proud that we could bring this innovative technology to our viewers.”
