Todd Donnelly Releases New Recording “Healing Steel Drums Volume One”

Nov. 16, 2010 - PRLog -- Todd Donnelly, a veteran steel drum artist, has just released a new recording entitled “Healing Steel Drums Volume One” on M & M Records.

Each of the songs on this recording features numerous layers of steel drums (also called “Steel Pans”), creating amazing overtones that are very soothing and relaxing.      The sound field that is produced on this album can be very effective in healing and meditation applications.
In “Healing Steel Drums Volume One”, the first six songs have ocean sounds mixed in to transport the listener instantly “to the beach”, while the remaining six versions are steel drums only.
Todd’s goal in making this recording was to create songs that both relax and rejuvenate, with some classic Calypso melodies and chord changes built in.

This recording was done on entirely on a pair of Double Second Pans, which were made and tuned by Cliff Alexis, a master steel drum builder and tuner originally from Trinidad. Todd attempted to record the steel drums in their most natural state, giving the listener the most authentic sound possible.
