Nov. 16, 2010 - PRLog -- Detailed planning, co-ordination with multiple stakeholders and carefully supervised execution by Jet Airways, the country’s premier international airline (including its Konnect service), and its subsidiary JetLite, has resulted in a smooth, uneventful and successful transition of the group’s domestic operations to and from Delhi to the state-of-the-art Terminal 3 at the Indira Gandhi International Airport. Since  November 14, 2010, the Jet Airways Group has operated a total of over 160 flights to and from Terminal 3. Jet Airways teams have been working virtually round the clock for the last couple of weeks in close co-ordination with senior officials from the Ministry of Civil Aviation, the DGCA and DIAL to ensure a smooth migration of its domestic operations to Terminal 3. A specifically designated Senior Leadership Team of Jet Airways was also stationed in New Delhi during the last few days to oversee the smooth migration.

Commenting on the successful migration of its domestic operations to Delhi’s Terminal 3, Nikos Kardassis, CEO - Jet Airways said, “The smooth and successful migration of the Jet Airways Group’s flight operations to DIAL’s Terminal 3 has been possible due to the hard work, dedication, commitment, meticulous planning and efficient execution by all the members of our team. I would also like to thank senior officials from the Ministry of Civil Aviation, the DGCA and DIAL for their involvement, support and guidance in making this a successful transition. The new state-of-the-art Terminal 3 is undoubtedly world class and as one of the largest carriers operating out of Terminal 3, the Jet Airways group is perhaps best poised to offer our guests enhanced comfort and convenience, together with seamless connectivity from India to the World. The integration of domestic and international operations at this world class terminal will allow us to seamlessly transfer guests between international and domestic flights and vice versa. Going forward it will help Jet Airways transform Delhi into a critical international transit hub and I am certain that our guests will significantly benefit from the world-class infrastructure of DIAL’s Terminal 3.”

In the effort to ensure a smooth transfer and minimise the likelihood of any guest inconvenience, Jet Airways, Jet Airways Konnect and JetLite had requested their guests to report to the airport a minimum of 2 hrs prior to the scheduled departure times of their respective flights. Jet Airways had also duly informed its guests about entry to the Departure terminal from Gate Nos. 2 and 3 of the Terminal 3 (IGI), with check-in at islands  B, C and D. All of which was communicated to the airlines guests through multiple channels of communication including SMS notifications, emails and through the airlines call center, which further helped minimise inconveniences to guests and facilitated a smooth migration.

For the additional convenience of our guests, the Jet Airways Group manned over 32 integrated check-in counters, located at islands C and D, for both domestic and international travel, significantly reducing check-in time for the airline’s guests. Importantly, all check-in counters for the domestic services of the Jet Airways Group will  close 45 minutes prior to departure, while boarding gates will close 25 minutes prior to departure respectively.
