Talent Management Celebrates Body Diversity At 'All Walks'

Nov. 15, 2010 - PRLog -- Being Europe’s leading modelling agency, we at Talent Management know all to well about the debates surrounding body diversity in the fashion industry.

But, rather than being constantly argued about, we think it should be celebrated, and we’re not alone in this thought.

‘All Walks Beyond The Catwalk’, endorsed by the British Fashion Council, is a campaign after our own heart.

Co-founded by Caryn Franklin, Debra Bourne, Erin O’Connor and Susan Ringwood, All Walks has joined forces with designers and a varied range of models to challenge some of the industry’s deeply rooted beliefs about the so called female ideal.

All Walks is also contributing to round table government discussions on how “diversity and the beauty of individuality can make an impact in the wider culture and influence self-esteem and well-being”.

Last week’s round table at the House of Commons saw Caryn Franklin, British fashion expert and All Walks Co-founder, discuss the issues surrounding the campaign’s work in the fashion industry.

Chaired by Govt. Minister for Equalities, Lynne Featherstone, Franklin wrote on her blog that it was “a great opportunity to talk about body diversity”.

“It’s reassuring to have the Minister’s ear on these matters, especially as reports show increasing levels of depression and despair amongst women and girls who feel when they don’t match up to the idealised images in our media.

“I genuinely hope this is the beginning of change,” Franklin added.
