Nov. 14, 2010 - PRLog -- Organic and Gluten Free Vegan Burgers debut at Expo East.
DOYLESTOWN, PA (October 10, 2010) As consumers struggle to find healthy allergen free convenient foods, Doylestown, PA based Asherah’s Gourmet is proud to announce their line of 100 % certified organic, certified gluten free Vegan Burgers. Their products were available for sample at the Natural Products Expo East, Oct. 14-16, 2010 at Booth’s 3110 and 1109.

Responding to a challenge from her students in her cooking classes, Asherah created unique and delicious recipes for Vegan Burgers which are free of the most common food allergens such as soy, wheat gluten, dairy, nuts, eggs and corn. Instead she bases her recipes on organic Quinoa. Quinoa, once a sacred crop of the Inca’s, is now considered a “super crop” by the United Nations because of its high protein content.
This is a great accomplishment for Vegan eating gourmets as “vegan/veggie” usually means made from soy or wheat gluten. In addition it was recently exposed by the Cornucopia Institute i that most major brands of veggie burgers on the market are contaminated with “hexane” a neuro-toxin and solvent used to extract oil out of soy to make the soy protein isolate.
Gluten Free is not just a fad as one in 130 people have celiac disease and many believe gluten intolerance/sensitivity is as many as one in seven or one in 10.
Recently, the Presidents panel on Cancer Prevention recommended eating organic foods free of pesticides and herbicides in order to lower their risk of developing cancer. There are very few organic vegan/veggie burgers on the market and of those that exist, even fewer are 100% certified as Asherah’s Gourmet products are making them a leader in the market place and a big plus for consumers concerned about protecting their health.
After it’s humble beginnings in Asherah’s cooking classes word quickly spread about the new “pure” quinoa vegan burger. In a short period of time the product has spread to over 100 retail and restaurant locations in nine states including 19 Whole Foods Markets. The products are also available nationwide online through the Gluten Free Mall.
A quote from one of our happy customers says it best, ”Asherah’s Gourmet veggie burgers are food chemistry perfection… an earthy, dark, and warm appearance… a dense, smooth texture… flavorful aroma… and delicious, rich, mouth-watering flavor… An amazing smell and taste interaction! These veggie burgers nourish my body… helping to promote and maintain good health. I highly recommend you try these veggie burgers… once you do, they will be the only veggie burgers you will ever want to eat!”
