SafeTexting an innovative solution prevents texting and driving

Nov. 13, 2010 - PRLog -- The application is activated when the phone reaches an average speed of 10 mph.  Based on how the settings are configured, it allows or disallows texting and inbound or outbound calls. A priority phone number list can be used, to always allow listed numbers to ring through.  Shortly after stopping, the application is deactivated and the cell phone functions normally.

Today, SafeTexting was released for phones on the Android platform. It can be downloaded via the Android Market app, keyword search “safetexting”

Android is one of the most wildly used smart phone platforms. Android phones include: DROID, DROID Incredible, DROID 2, DROID Pro, DROID R2D2, DROID X. The HTC Aria, EVO and Hero. The LG Ally and Optimus. Motorola’s Backflip, BRAVO, CITRUS, DEVOUR, Flipout and FlipSide. Samsung’s Captivate, Continuum, Epic, Fascinate, Intercept and Transform. The Sanyo Zio, Sony’s Ericsson Xperia and many others.

SafeTexting is also available for the BlackBerry on BlackBerry App World, keyword search “safe texting”.  The iPhone version is planned for a December release. Windows Phone7 is planned for early 2011. Custom corporate configurations and enterprise licensing is also available. Languages include: English, Spanish, German, French, Italian, Hebrew, Chinese, Japanese, Russian and Portuguese.

Future apps will address: teen speeding, ‘time out’ cell phone discipline, calendaring/schedule restricted capabilities and other family/social oriented concerns.
