The "Windows" Series
The original drawings in the series "Windows" were drawings done by Jackie Jacobson in her studio from live models. Palm Springs area artist Jackie Jacobson states that in examining the beauty of women, she discovered another aspect often hidden from view. The discovery for artist Jackie Jacobson was this truth...that hiding behind these hats, was pain being disguised by the outer adornments. That pain was visible in the models eyes and where artist Jacobson focused. The drawing series was part of Jacobson's questioning of outer beauty, and if physically beautiful women were really fortunate? The title "Windows" for the series, came from Jacobson's realization that she was looking into the windows of the soul of beauty. Twelve different models were used for the series which included 20 drawings. The original drawings were 32 x 40" in size, drawn on Moonstone grey Charcoal paper, using charcoal and pastels. Eight drawings of the series are now available as giclee prints on canvas or paper.
