"The New 2011 Honda Accord received Highest Rating in Crash Tests!" – Criswell Honda

Ray LaHood, Transportation Secretary, stated that the ratings are aimed at boosting overall safety and ensuring the results more accurately reflect the crashworthiness of new cars and light trucks. Female crash-dummies have been used for the first time along with male versions. The purpose is to collect data about injuries to the chest, head, neck and legs.

The Toyota’s Camry was rated three stars overall, receiving three stars for side and frontal crashes and four stars for rollovers.

Hyundai’s Sonata received with an overall five-star rating, scoring top score on side-crashes and rollovers but only four stars in frontal crashes.

Unlike the two sedans, the new 2011 Honda Accord sedan received five stars on side and frontal crashes as well as rollovers.

This makes Honda Accord to be the first to received five stars in each of three crash categories tested by NHTSA.
