By: Angelnook Publishing CRANSTON, RI, Oct. 19, 2010—Angelnook Publishing has issued a quality, high-gloss poster and giclee prints on canvas depicting divinely-inspired Canadian artist Christina Lovisa’s striking “apocalypse” The 11x17-inch poster, signed by the artist, showcases four encaustic paintings—“Unprepared” The imagery of the critically acclaimed paintings is both disturbing and enlightening, showing hope in a time of despair. Lovisa, of Ottawa, says the images were inspired, in part, by a dream she had about an apocalyptic event that nearly destroyed the earth. The date, 11.11.11, was featured in the dream and became the title for the dramatic series of paintings. The evolution of the paintings is fascinating. Lovisa struggled with a subject for a planned exhibit and, just four days before the paintings were due for delivery, went for a walk in the woods. “I asked God to help me, and when I returned to my studio, I quickly painted the first two paintings,” Lovisa said. That night, she had a dream, which left Lovisa reeling. In the dream, she was walking with her son and realized something terrible had happened. People were congregating in a church-like building for shelter, and it was here she learned a huge sun flare had heated the earth to such an extent that people would be forced to live in darkness for one year. The date in the dream was Nov. 11, 2011. Lovisa thought nothing of the dream until the next day when she created her remaining two paintings. The four paintings clearly and graphically depicted the events of the dream. It is important to note that two of the paintings were completed prior to the dream. In “Unprepared” In the second painting, “Apocolypse” The third in the series, “Regaining Consciousness” The fourth painting, “Life Force Revelry”, depicts a series of horses running through a brightly-lit sky. It is, says Lovisa, the hope of a new beginning for mankind. Lovisa stresses that this dream is in no way a prediction of an apocalyptic event, but rather a series of paintings inspired by something greater than herself. Even the names of the paintings were “given” to her, she says. The artist-signed poster of the paintings is now available at AngelNook.com, for $20. The limited edition prints are also available.
