FDC Studio’s Office Expansion

Nov. 12, 2010 - PRLog -- FDC Studio, which is based in Ibstock, recently expanded with several new recruits, having swiftly grown from two people in September 2009 to 12 staff members today.

This follows reports of a monthly turnover of more than sevenfold earlier in the year and the addition of a wide cross-section of clients from throughout the UK, ranging from local start-ups to established, multi-million pound corporations including British Sugar, Ola Holidays, O’Flanagan Homes and Davidsons.

Several new staff members have joined the ranks in the past few months to help the team cope with spiralling demand. Tori Trafford joined as Project Manager in July, followed by Web Developer Chris Emerson and new copywriting duo Abbey Stirling and Phil Holdsworth.

Dale Moreton, FDC’s Managing Director, says: “We’re a few very talented people, rather than a lot of people associated to certain roles, therefore that’s how we can provide the cost benefit back to the client. We’ve come up on the radar with all these large organisations, not by marketing ourselves effectively but just by doing good work.”

An office expansion planned for completion before Christmas is currently underway to create more space in the current 1,000-square foot venue, which will see the addition of a new, expansive design studio and reception area.

“At the moment we’re all sardines in a tin. We’ve now taken on another 50 per cent of the space that we have available. That’s for a new studio which will be in situ for design, copywriting, programming, and the expansion for the offices is just to really make it more of a relaxed and creative environment - but again working hard.”

Born out of an idea to make a full design agency affordable for recession-hit SMEs across the Midlands, FDC first opened its doors in February 2007. Dale and his business partner Alex Chitzimikes had just two clients on the books at the beginning but a strong service and hefty demand has seen business soar in 2010.

“We’ve continued to be showing to the market place that we can do better work for a good fair price,” Dale concludes. “And therefore people have been coming back and knocking on the door.”
