Sibley Memorial Hospital Cancer Patients Treated To “A Night for Women”

Nov. 12, 2010 - PRLog -- Washington, DC--Sibley Memorial Hospital cancer patients were treated to an evening of pampering at the Red Door Spa in Washington, DC.

More than 60 cancer patients from Sibley and Suburban Hospitals (http://www.suburbanhospital.org) came together at the event called “A Night for Women” where Red Door staff offered complimentary manicures, pedicures, massages, facials and makeovers, as well as other spa services.

“Sibley recognizes the importance of treating the whole woman beyond her medical treatments,” said Brette Kaplan of Washington DC who received treatment at Sibley. “Spa treatments are a great way to start the road to recovery and healing.”

“Cancer treatment can be emotionally and physically draining,” says Douglas Forman, MD, Medical Director at Red Door Spa, who suggested the idea for the event. “Red Door Spa is providing the perfect environment for women to relax, rejuvenate and be pampered.”

“We held this event last year and absolutely every employee who volunteered their time was so rewarded by the experience,” said Sue Page, Vice President of Operations at the Red Door Spa. “We just knew that we had to do it again this year.”

Elizabeth Arden and the Red Door Spa (http://www.reddoorspas.com/) say they will continue hosting this event annually.
