New Absinthe Bar Service For Corporate Events

Nov. 11, 2010 - PRLog -- Absinthe, affectionately known as 'The Green Fairy', which at one time was banned in the USA and most of Europe, but surprisingly not in the UK, still carries an almost mystical reputation amongst the public at large.  Stories of Van Gogh cutting his ears off whilst under the influence of the spirit, or Swiss farmers murdering their families after an Absinthe binge lend it an unsavoury reputation, the same reputation which led to its original ban.

Modern Absinthe made to regulated standards carries only minute traces of Thujone, the chemical found in Wormwood which was reputed to give Absinthe its hallucinogenic properties, and its carries no greater risk than other strong spirits.

Candy Floss Crazy have launched a Bohemian themed cart complete with two Absinthe fountains allowing upto 4 glasses of Absinthe to be prepared together. The quite unique ritual involves a shot of Absinthe being placed into a glass, a slotted spoon balanced on top and a lump of sugar being placed upon the spoon. Ice cold water is then dripped onto the sugar which dissolves and drops into the Absinthe, slowly turning it a milky white, a process known as 'Louching'.

A costumed operator is on hand to explain the history and ritual of Absinthe and helps keep the guests entertained whilst preparing their drinks.

The service is aimed primarily at corporate parties but can provide a stunning attractions for exhibitions, sales conferences etc.
