By: Ex'pression College for Digital Arts Motion Graphic Design Students Earn Top Awards in National Competition (EMERYVILLE, CA – November 11, 2010) – Four students from Ex’pression College for Digital Arts, representing the Motion Graphic Design program, returned to Emeryville from a national two-day motion graphics, visual effects and animation conference called motion (motion.motion.tv) Ex’pression students Jon Corriveau, Brady Lowery, Sam McCann, and Daamun Mohseni placed first with their entry entitled “Scalpel Ad,” while Lydia Baillergeau and Karen Wong placed third for “Safe America Text First Talk Second.” William Nations took fourth place with his piece “Reel Summer 2010” and fifth place was awarded to Jon Corriveau and Daamun Mohseni for “Premonition Titles.” Other Motion Graphic Design students who attended and entered the contest from Ex’pression College were Amanda Mantchev, Jennifer McNeal, Nate Fegette, and Thomas Chun. Placing in four of the top five spots is an incredible achievement, given the fact that our students were competing against their fellow student peers from around the country. Their work is proof that our curriculum has prepared students to be competitive in the industry,” commented Yael Braha, Program Director for Motion Graphic Design at Ex’pression College. “The closer I get to graduation, the more I want to take advantage of every opportunity to network with the industry. Attending motion provided me with two solid days of being able to absorb industry-related information, while meeting potential new employers and colleagues. Having our work recognized was an honor, “said Daamun Mohseni, 1st place winner and upcoming graduate from the Motion Graphic Design program at Ex’pression College. motion, which is an annual conference that takes place in Albuquerque, New Mexico, brings together over 500 professionals in the film, broadcast, and game industries to discuss trends, address industry related topics and issues, and share creative insights and ideas.
