Santa Prepares to Send Letters to Local Kids

Nov. 11, 2010 - PRLog -- Connecticut, Bridgeport – November 11, 2010 – Santa Energy is again offering its popular “Letters From Santa” program this holiday season.  Children can send a request to the Bridgeport-based energy company and Santa Energy will make sure that Santa sends the child a note.  

For 70 years Santa Energy has been providing homeowners with home heating oil.  While the name of the company came from the founders, Stephen and Madeline Santa, the company has always been linked to a certain man in red who is very popular this time of year.  Tom Santa, the grandson of the founder and current CEO recalls a phone call he received a few years ago from a boy trying to reach Santa Clause.  “He had dialed our number, 800-93-SANTA, hoping to reach a certain jolly old elf residing at the North Pole but he got me instead.”  Mr. Santa, happily spoke to the boy and helped him with his request.  “This boy was not the only one,” said Santa. “Every year Santa Energy receives some letters and phone calls from similar children trying to reach Santa Clause.”

Last year, some of Santa Energy’s employees suggested they formalize the program for these children.  The Letters From Santa program was promoted locally and the company received hundreds of letters.   It was so popular with children and Santa Energy employees that the program is continuing this year.  Any child who wants to receive a letter from Santa can send a note to the company, and Santa Energy promises that the child will get a letter back from Santa.

Said Mr. Santa, “As a local, family-owned company, we try to do a lot of things for the community, but this program is something special.  Despite it being a very busy time of year for the fuel business and in our personal lives, our employees work extra hard to support the Letters from Santa program.  They understand that this program is about the children and helping create the magic of the holidays for them. All of us at Santa Energy are glad that we are able to do this.”

“’You can believe in Santa’ has been our slogan for our company for many years,” said Mr. Santa. “And while it is a great slogan for our business to use all year long, we are happy to have it take on extra special meaning at this time of year.”

Include a mailing address, the child’s name and gender and any special effort he/she has made to be good this year.  And Santa Energy will make sure Santa sends a response to the child.
