Nov. 11, 2010 - PRLog -- When you hear the term “Triple Threat,” attributes that usually come to mind are singer, dancer and actor. But Congo native Angelique Kayeye, a.k.a. recording artist Stormm, has catapulted that moniker into the stratosphere.

Not only is she an incredible recording artist and performer, she speaks four languages (English, French, Spanish and Lingala) AND is the first Black Molecular Biology Geneticist in Canada at the University of Guelph…a fete accomplished in her mid-twenties. (We’ll give you a moment to process the magnitude of Stormm’s talents.)

You may ask, “Why is a Geneticist embarking upon a music career?” Simply put, the answer is ‘why not?’

The love of music is just as prominent in Stormm’s DNA as her need to eradicate the debilitating disease Cystic Fibrosis - an inherited chronic disease that affects the lungs and digestive system of about 30,000 children and adults in the United States and 70,000 worldwide. Witnessing the family members and friends affected by this horrible disease, it became her mission to find a cure and end the suffering.

Stormm received solace in her church where she found her voice and knew that she wanted to sing as well as heal the world.

Stormm’s father Mathieu – a native of war-ravaged Democratic Republic of The Congo (formerly known as Zaire) - knew he had to flee the country to provide a safer and better life for his family. Migrating to France and later to Alberta, Canada may have quelled the threat of violence; but the hard times were not behind them in their new country.

Wanting to instill values of hard work, tenacity and education, he opted not to move to a French speaking area, but instead to a part of the country that spoke English; a language they didn’t know. Compounded by communication barriers, financial strains forced the family to live in a homeless shelter. But none of these obstacles stopped Stormm from striving to reach her dreams of becoming a scientist and an recording artist.

Balancing studying and music, Stormm is an amazing artist and scholar. By day, her nose is planted in her books or in the lab desperately researching the cure for this devastating disease plaguing the world, Cystic Fibrosis. By night, she is in the studio belting her heart on tracks like, “Give It to Me” and the “First Time.” Both hot singles from her forthcoming album “The Perfect Stormm.” Citing influences like Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, Mariah and Lady GaGa, Stormm has a sound that is infectious with vocals that will grab you at the first note. Already making noise on iTunes and overseas, Stormm is definitely a force to be reckoned with. Even her name evokes a sense of power and fearlessness.  After she sang her heart out in the booth one night, everyone was ‘blown away’ by her vocal prowess. Thus, her alter ego “Stormm” was born.

“When I first heard and saw Stormm, I was impressed by her edgy look and youthful sound but it was her inspirational life story that really intrigued me. I have experienced adversities of my own while building my recording career and I can relate to the struggles,” says Rainy Davis, President of Rainysongs Entertainment.

It would be easy to say the name is derivative from the X-Men character brought to life by the equally as beautiful Halle Berry, but the sheer force and drive of Stormm as an artist and powerful role model to young girls makes her a real-life and tangible super hero. Her prowess not only shines through her thought-provoking lyrics, groundbreaking medical research and her beauty, but also in her living example that through hard work, faith and patience dreams can come true. “It was a pleasure to welcome Stormm to the Rainysongs roster. She’s not just a beautiful sister with a powerful voice but a hard working young lady with a powerful message,” reflects Ms. Davis, of Rainysongs Entertainment.

This multi-faceted artist has dreams that soar far beyond the top of the charts. Stormm hopes to one day return to her homeland of the Democratic Republic of The Congo to open a research laboratory that will aid in the cure of many diseases. STORMM’S dream to change the world through music is fully supported by research colleagues including Dr. Dev Mangroo who believes, “Angelique Kayeye’s research on the disease Cystic Fibrosis is an important element of Stormm’s public persona.

Her ultimate desire is to bring about awareness to the struggles of people living in impoverished and disease ridden areas through her gift of song. “Stormm has decided to use her celebrity to create awareness of the disease she spends her days researching a cure for as a scientist. I’m quite sure fans will find her music uplifting and her ambitious life’s mission very motivational, especially to young women around the world,” adds Ms. Davis.

Stormm’s new single, “Give It To Me” is powered by Rainysongs Digital System (RDS) -- the most innovative digital distribution system available in North America.
