MicroTech Salutes American Military, Wounded Veterans at DC Area Special Events

Nov. 10, 2010 - PRLog -- As part of this year's tribute to local U.S. Armed Forces, on November 10, 2010, MicroTech is actively involved with two prominent Washington DC area special events. The technology and systems integrator is sponsoring a sports celebrity visit at Walter Reed Army Medical Center (WRAMC), meeting with wounded service members and the hospital medical staff. The same day, MicroTech President & CEO Tony Jimenez will take part in the televised presentation "Welcome Home Veterans” at the National Basilica.

MicroTech CEO Jimenez, along with Sr. Vice President of Strategic Partnerships and former Chief Master Sergeant of the Air Force (15) Rod McKinley, will escort an all-star line-up of professional fighters to the renown military health center. The well-known athletes include UFC Lightweight Champion of the World Frankie Edgar; Former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Rashad Evans; Bellator Lightweight Champion of the World Eddie Alvarez; Boxing Sensation and Heavyweight Contender Seth Mitchell; and Brazilian Jui-Jujitsu National Champion and Pan American Champion Gregor Gracie.

Jimenez will also be a part of the 2010 National Veterans Day Concert at the National Basilica. The annual event combines a symphony orchestra, 200-voice chorale, and moving narrations honoring our veterans. The Medical Musical Group Chorale and Symphony Orchestra will be directed by Victor Wahby, MD.

MicroTech has long championed the military and veterans, sponsoring several recent activities including Military Appreciation Night at a January 2010 Washington Wizards game for 400 local military personnel; and hosting a UFC event at the Patriot Center for several dozen severely wounded personnel and their families.
